ELEVEN BREATHS The Eleven Breaths is a wonderful spiritual tool that I learned from my healer, Sara Allen. She in turn had become aware of this technique through a lecture she attended given by Stuart Wilde. In it, he told the story of how his company had been going through a prolonged audit, which was a drain both financially and emotionally. He finally approached his Daoist teacher asking for a solution. The Daoist monk instructed him to do the Eleven Breaths as follows: Before you inhale, name the issue. In this case, it was the audit. Before you exhale, say,"Love", and send love to the issue as you exhale. Do this for ten breaths. Upon the eleventh breath, state the issue again, but this time, visualize a hologram of the situation resting in the palm of your right hand. After you say "Love" for the eleventh time, "blow" the issue away, imagining it dissolving with the healing energies of Divine Love. He did as he was told, and much to his surprise, the audit was cancelled the very next day. The day after that, the auditor showed at Stuart's company, applying for a job! Sara also told me about one of her clients, "Susan", who had been coming weekly for 4 years, because of lingering anger towards her mother-in-law. The two had had an argument over 30 years prior, and they had not spoken since. At every session, Susan would repeat her story angrily with self-righteousness. One day Sara informed Susan that she needed to do the Eleven Breaths. Sara's client was outraged, fuming, "I can't believe that you want me to send love to that woman, after all she did to me!" But Sara held her ground, and guided Susan through it, meeting with considerable resistance and mounting fury. Susan finally completed the Eleven Breaths, storming out of Sara's office after the session was over. Sara fully expected to have lost Susan as a client. Much to her surprise, Susan called her back almost immediately. Upon returning home, Susan found a message waiting for her on the answering machinge. It was from her mother-in-law, calling to apologize for that oh-so-long-ago fight. Sara explained to me that I could use this technique in many ways. I could use it to send away any health concerns, even tumors. I could also use it for others as Sara does for clients who are in need of healing. In this case, you don't "blow" the person away on the eleventh breath. You simply say "love" and exhale as you do on the first ten breaths. This is a technique that I use daily, often finishing my morning energy work by choosing one or more quality in the world that I would like to see less of, such as greed, ignorance, narrow-mindedness, or self-righteousness. I then do the Eleven Breaths, sending love to this quality for ten breaths. On the 11th breath, after I've said, "Love", I "blow" it away, imagining it vaporizing . I have had dramatic results using the 11 breaths. In late June of 2010, sudden storms blew through our area with winds exceeding 70 miles an hour. Our house is surrounded by large, beautiful trees. During this storm, they swayed wildly in the wind. Truly frightened for them., I told them urgently how much we loved them and how much we wanted them there, begging them to be strong and survive the storms in tact. As soon as I finished communicating that, the following thought flew into my mind unbidden: "Do the 11 breaths. Send away the danger." I was extremely startled by the idea, but had nothing to lose, so I immediately began doing the 11 breaths, saying "Dangerous storm and winds" before inhaling, and then "Love". |
